The S crack is E1 5b. The traverse before the S crack is perhaps E1 5a as it’s a bit bold from memory. Think you can do the traverse and the S crack in a single pitch with two ropes.
I think traversing to the base of the S crack is a recent habit, the original route started almost directly below the S Crack. I was told and would probably agree that traversing in creates a more homogeneous route.
