I love adventurous and committing climbing, especially on sea cliffs. Focusing on trad and sport at the moment in an attempt to get better so I could do more of the amazing routes out there.It all started with an Alpine climbing course in Cham back in 2003, followed by trad climbing a couple of years later.
Used to be keen on winter climbing and have done a fair bit in Scotland and Wales. Prefer mixed as I find it more interesting but enjoy ice as well and have been to Cogne, Kandersteg and Rjukan. Not been out in winter since 2020 though - taking a break from it to focus on rock.
Used to be often found at dank dry tooling crags when there's no winter climbing to be had, both as something fun to do and as training for the real stuff. Not been tooling since 2020 though.
Was slowly working through a long wishlist of big Alpine routes. Got to do them before they all fall down! If I ever get back to it, that is, as not been to the Alps since winter 2020.
Have done a reasonable amount of ski touring, including the classic Cham - Zermatt Haute Route and the less well known but really enjoyable Vanoise Chicken, as well as various other tours. Not been on skis since 2020 though. Is there a theme developing here?
Tax adviser and chartered accountant - it can be interesting at times, honestly!
Russian but have been living in the UK for 30 years. Never liked Putin. Hope Russia loses the war as soon as possible.
