Registering, User Profiles and Data

Why register?
By registering you help us tailor our content to your requirements. It enables you as a user to create a User Profile, a climbing Logbook, your own Photo Gallery, and select which Forums you see by default. You can also save content and get notifications when there is new content in your areas of interest. Registration is free.

How do I register?
To register on UKHillwalking you need a working email address, a username and password - you can register here.

What data do we store?
The only data we hold to maintain your registration is your email address, your username and your password. If you enter a competition we ask for your address to send a prize to. You can choose to store this address with us so that you don't fill it out every time, or keep it private and fill it in each time you enter. We will not pass this address on to any third party for marketing purposes and it is only used in connection with the competition you have entered to send a potential prize to. User Profiles
Once you have registered you can set up a User Profile that can contain as much or as little as you wish. You can add a Profile Photo and it is linked to your climbing Logbook if you have one.

How do I edit my User Profile?
The links to the right can be used to change many things on your User Profile like your User Options, your registered Email Address, your Username, your Password. You can also Edit your Profile and request that your profile is deleted.

How do I remove my User Profile?

What is a UKC Supporter and UKC SupporterPlus?
If you appreciate the content we offer then you can help us by becoming an official UKC Supporter - more information here. This can be a one-off single annual payment or a more substantial payment (SupporterPlus) paid monthly or yearly which includes full access to Rockfax Digital and discounts on Rockfax print publications.

Troubleshooting

My registration confirmation code doesn't work?
Occasionally the registration process doesn't work. Please Contact Us and we can sort this out.

How do I change or delete my Profile Photo?
This is an option on the Edit Profile page. You can only have one profile photo. If you replace one then it remains in your gallery. To completely remove a profile photo, go to your Photo Gallery and find the photo. Then click on Edit photo in the top right and scroll down to delete the photo.

I have tried to register but my account says it is restricted?
We use spam protection on the website. Sometimes this can be triggered by an IP address or for some other reason. This doesn't mean you are actually restricted but you do need to Contact Us to get the profile correctly registered.
