Wild Camp on a Hidden Gem
Wild camping and scrambling - two of the best things you can do on the hills? Maybe even better (if you don't mind clambering with a heavy pack) is combining them both.
Here Robin Wallace and friend enjoy a spectacular summit sunset camp on the mighty Beinn Dearg, a neglected Torridon gem that hides behind the more celebrated 3000-ers. Though it just fails to make Munro status, something we can thank for its comparative neglect, it yields nothing in impact. And the view's not too shabby either.
Next morning they take the long way back to the car via some classic scrambling on Beinn Alligin's famous Horns.
