Many County Councils now have PROW maps online, and with some of them it is possible to link directly to the map with a grid reference and zoom level in the url (which makes linking directly to a specific place very quick and easy when you know how, and very useful if you're walking in a particular area)

For example:

North Yorks mapping: https://maps.northyorks.gov.uk/

North Yorks direct to a specific point: https://maps.northyorks.gov.uk/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?mapcfg=Out_and...

Derbys mapping: https://maps.derbyshire.gov.uk/

Derbys direct to a specific point: https://maps.derbyshire.gov.uk/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main?mapcfg=Ordnanc...

Staffs mapping: https://map.staffordshire.gov.uk/PublicWebmap/

Staffs direct url: https://map.staffordshire.gov.uk/PublicWebmap/Map.aspx?x=414652&y=35020...

Lancs CC has online mapping at: https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/public-rights-of-way...

but I cannot find a way of going direct to the map with a grid ref and a Zoom level on Lancs CC mapping.  I'm in the process of contacting Lancs CC, but so far no joy.  Can anyone work out / does anyone know if it is possible and/or how to direct link to Lancs CC map with a grid ref and a Zoom level?

TIA

I cannot help with your specific request, however possibly I can help in saying that all Lancs CC Data is on something called Mario, so possibly you could have a look there https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/mario-offline/

I can tell you that the Rights of Way team are a tad under resourced, so your request for advice maybe at the bottom of a large pile.

I haven't worked out how to open the map zoomed in, but as its an excellent source and you can - for NYCC zoom in as far as you want/need.  An underated resource.

Excellent: just perfect. Thank you for that pointer.  Just what was needed. Got myself a URL e.g. https://arcg.is/19mSir0 which goes to a specific point at a specified zoom level.  Saves a whole load of scrolling.  Just need to add layers of PROW and cycle routes, which isn't a huge overhead manually, if I can't get it onto the url as well.

Forgot to add, that I got a very quick e-mail reply from the PROW people at Lancs CC.  They couldn't help, but did suggest I contacted the ICT team, which I have done and will see if they can provide some pointers.
