I've searched my well thumbed copy of One Man's Mountains for his saying
'Masherbrum, Gasherbrum, Distaghil Sar
They all are good training for Dark Lochnagar'.
But failed to find it. Anyone know where it appears?
The recent biography of Tom Patey (One Man's Legacy: Tom Patey) quotes the same lines but no more. Apparently the song's called 'in praise o' the 'Gar'.
I've written it out placed it in my copy. Thanks.
There’s a CD called The Bar Room Mountaineers that includes some extracts of an impromptu session by Tom Patey at a party in Glencoe.
I’m not saying these lines or song is on it, but it’s s right good listen.

The lines are quoted by Tom Weir in the article "Lochnagar" (about an ascent of Parallel A) in SMCJ 1960: https://simrich.ams3.digitaloceanspaces.com/SMCJ/Number%20151%20-%20Vol%202... (page 21)
"The Aberdeen climbers sing a song which compares Lochnagar to the Himalayan giants. It goes something like:
Gasherbrum, Masherbrum, Distighil Sar,
They're very good training for Dark Lochnagar."
Thanks for that Mark. Maybe it wasn't Patey at all.
