Rab has announced it is expanding its support for mountain running activities across the globe in 2022. Drawing on 40 years of expertise in crafting high-end outdoor clothing and equipment, this underlines the launch of Rab's fully updated Skyline trail and mountain running range for Spring/Summer 2022 and shows the brand's ambitions as a key player in all mountain-related activities.

In its UK home market, Rab is partnering with Lake District Sky Trails, consisting of Scafell Sky Race, Pinnacle Ridge Extreme and Lakes Sky Ultra. With fully marked courses and maximum ascent packed into every race distance, these races are designed to test mountain runners of all abilities to the limits of their skill, endurance and nerves. Furthermore, Rab is supporting the Rab Skiddaw Vertical Run, a mountain running event that will premier at the famous Keswick Mountain Festival.

In the US, Rab continues to support the Cirque Series, consisting of seven challenging mountain runs, with a strong relevance in the international mountain running community. After a successful first year in 2021, Rab is excited to develop this partnership and realise ideas for future activities.

Additionally, Rab is supporting the famous Tromsø Mountain Challenge in Norway for the first time, offering some great contrasts: Mountains and fjords, steep hills and scree slopes, lush green mountains and a great view.

Some of Rab's strongest mountain running athletes will be taking part, such as Georgia Tindley (UK), Brian Sharp (UK) and Chris Fisher (US, Guinness World Record Holder for max vert in a month in 2021).

Rab's new SS22 Skyline range builds on the brand's expertise in crafting technical mountain clothing and equipment and is designed using ultralight materials without compromising on weather protection, with details honed specifically for running.

Some of the key pieces include the Phantom Pull-On and Pants which have been completely updated for SS22 and are now also available in a Women's version. These pieces provide a second skin defence against the elements. Built with Pertex® Shield 2.5-Layer and adding up to just 149g combined, the Phantom Pull-On and Pants hail a new era of packable waterproof protection.

Good to see the another Kinetic jacket.. I use mine all the time for running as the breathable nature of the fabric fits the bill for sweaty workouts!

Good to see Rab getting more involved in running. With that said, I'm not sure I'd want to associate myself with the Skiddaw Vertical Run. Charging £47 just to run up Skiddaw (compared to £11 quid for the fell race, which includes the down!) is taking the mick.

That’s really rather silly but isn’t it?

Imagine what they'd charge to come down too.

Much like you, I'm a big fan of the Kinetic Jacket and have used mine loads. Interestingly I was perhaps a little less of a fan of the latest Kinetic Alpine simply they'd made it a little heavier duty. Whilst this made it far more appropriate for alpinism/mountaineering, what I ultimately wanted it for was exactly what the Kinetic Ultra is designed to do. As such, I'm excited to see how it performs...
