Route Cards Get Major Update on UKHillwalking

Over the last few weeks we have been working hard to overhaul the UKH Route Card system. The route cards feature over 170 individual walks, runs and bike trails, and with the new system now live this number will steadily grow.

Perhaps the most noticeable change is the facelift we've given to route maps. The new maps bring the ability to display digital OS maps by linking into the Ordnance Survey's excellent OS OpenSpace service. These maps are the digital equivalent of the OS Explorer map series and zoom in to a scale of 1:25,000 - just what you need for seeing all those craggy terrain details! The maps are also viewable in full screen, allowing you to survey the entire lay of the land around the route.

Many other improvements have also been made to the general layout, mobile compatibility and print compatibility. We'll let you discover those for yourself, but here are a few screenshots to get a general idea:

We are also excited to report that Mammut have come on board as Route Card sponsor, to help support the continued development of this side of UKH. We'd like to say a big thanks to them.
