Any info on conditions in South Wales??

I know its a long shot but weather says its been pretty cold there for a week... I don't have time to get further North

Looking at easy climbs, maybe RAC corner etc.

Or is it just walking?

What group is that?

I'm in Bristol and was hoping for a smash-and-grab one night this week.

Perhaps a Bristol Winter withdrawl group is required to help those of us with slowly rusting crampons get a fix?

Looks like some routes were done on Pen Y Fan yesterday - posted on the UKC winter conditions page...

Weather looks like sub zero for the next 2 days but sunny so might make a smash and grab...

Anyone know if the car parking fees now need to be paid at Pont Ar Daf? If so can you pay by phone?

Yes, payable now, not sure about cash, card or app though - I'll ask on BBs FB group.

If you are a member of the National Trust you will be able to park for free, as you can do in all other National Trust car parks in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Non-members will be charged a flat fee of £7.50 per car to park. (NT website)

I think the lay-bys are still free, although the Storey Arms one will be rammers by 8am I reckon. I usually drive the extra 300m to the lay-by just beyond Storey Arms.

I dug my boots out last night... full of holes, bloody mice!!!

I might not get there this cold snap, unless I can strap my (rusting) crampons to my crocs.

Scrap my other comment - apparently there is no charge yet. According to someone on Facebook.

No charges until they have finished all the work there

Managed to climb RAC corner this AM. Fairly good condition and fairly busy!

Went over to Torpantau in the afternoon which looked OK but a bit thin in the upper sections but the first pitch was flowing water running down the centre, not sure how much longer it will hang around for...
