the indirect icefall start to Broad Gully mentioned on page 58 of the 1988 edition of Welsh Winter Climbs? 
 

As it’s V(5) here, and (2/3) in the book. Even allowing for the IV(4) grade here for good conditions, that’s quite a discrepancy!
 

Asking as I think I climbed some years back- it was in excellent condition and in no way was it V(5) that day- tech 3 seemed fair to me then. But I’ve never done a IV(4) so nothing to compare it with.
 

Or is there another ice fall around there I could be mixing it up with…?
