Conditions on the Schmid (Matterhorn NF)

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to climb the Schmid route on the Matterhorn North Face in about 10 days. Does anyone know the conditions on the route? Has it been climbed the las couple of weeks? I can't find any reports. It’s my first time in UKC (I'm from spain) so I don't know exactly how this works. Any info is welcome! Also recommendations! Thanks!

Probably worth calling the Guides‘ Office (Bergführerbüro) in Zermatt, those guys are usually very forthcoming and helpful with information, and I‘m sure they have English speakers:

I usually approach this dilemma the other way round; first find out what's in condition, then make a plan. Takes some of the frustration out of alpine climbing!

Skied past it yesterday. Looking totally dry, not in condition.

Thanks! I'll call them tomorrow morning and hopefully they'll have decent information but looks bad at the moment
