Spellbinding photography at times, as it tells the story of the rivalry between Ueli Steck and Dani Arnold. Their speed ascents on the Eiger & Matterhorn North faces is covered, but towards the end the film casts doubt about Stecks's ascent of the South Face of Annapurna. Indeed a number of his Himalayan climbs claims are not backed up with any photographic evidence. I think this is a story that is going to run and run.

More about their rivalry here from Ed Douglas...

That must have been an interesting symposium to hear. The only person you cantcheat on is yourself. I mean for these high performance mountaineers, they might gain a little kudos and income from a lie, but the consequences of be labelledla cheat are far greater. And once in the pit, the hole gets deeper trying to justify that lie. Think Maestri. Still, I enjoyed the Netflix film. Dani Arnold comes across as a much more rounded person than Steck.
