Anyone know what kandersteg connies are like at the mo, saw that some stuff was in but not sure how much and indeed what the bern area is like in general. Am in wengen next fri/sun and was thinking of at least one day hit.

Poor conditions at the moment. The routes at Oeschiwald and up to Blue Magic and Rübezahl are not in condition or do not even exist, they were wiped out by the warm and rainy weather recently. If anything is climbable then it's NIN (last done mid January AFAIK) or one of the Breitwangfluh routes. However, it has also been (too) warm there and most likely rained a bit, so be extra careful.  

There’s some stuff to do at the Breitwangflue. Did Metro today. Check out the Alpine (ice) conditions FB page. I uploaded a load of photos of the Breitwangflue yesterday. It’s pretty warm but up on (in!) the wall it was below freezing today as wet slings were icing up. So I guess the stuff which is in will stay in but the ice won’t grow much (eg Crack Baby is incomplete).
