Planning a holiday to Selva / Val Gardena in Aug and wanted to introduce some (non-climbing) friends to the joys of Alpine Huts with a 2 day trip.

Anyone recommend a 2 day hike with a nice hut for the night?

Thanks

Ian

Up & down to Vajolet Hut? Good views on the Vajolet Towers.. nice hut.
I think a circuit might involve a via ferrata. can't remember.

You could do Ortisei to Alpi di Suisi on the cable car, then walk across the alp up to the willemshuttem then in the morning walk up to cross beneath Sasso Piatto to reach the Sellapass and then take the bus back down, or the same to TirlerHutte (more remote) then down Val Duran to Campitello di Fassa and them bus back over. Or if you want to leave booking until the last minute, go to the top of Piz Boe and stay in Cappana Boe at the very top. Bookings are non refundable as its a tiny hut. Or if you are happy to travel a bit, Alleghe to top of ski range, then walk to Passo Staulanza, then to Rifugio Citta dei Fiumi for the night beneath Monte Pelmo. Then in the morning to Passo Giau. From there if you wanted to spend more time you could drop down to the lift up to Forcella Averau and stay at the hut at the top, or trek up to Rifugio Nuvolau, then in the morning make your way across to Passo Falzarego. But it depends on how mobile you can be!

Up VF Rene Da Pol, stay in Rif Lorenzi, down VF Ivano Dibona.
Or Up the 666 path, across the Sella Plateau and stay in Sella Hut, then down to Sellapass or Pordoi pass. The hut's not the best though. Maybe do the opposite direction and stay in the Pisciadu hut? 666 path isn't very nice though.
Or go to Brenta and up Groste cablecar, stay at Rif Tuckett or Alimonta (probably need to do Vf SOSAT for the latter) then down to Madonna. Don't do the Sentiero Orsi with novices, it's a lot more dangerous than VF SOSAT due to a lack of protection and snow patches / eroded couloirs.
Can't think of any pure walks I've done involving huts.
