Large dump of snow last night was lying deep and soft above 750m. Drifts in hollows/grooves and on flat ledges were up to 2 feet deep and cracks/walls and spikes were well verglassed from the Little Tower upwards. However at 2pm the ice on Tower Gap had water behind it. Almost a foot of soft snow lying at the summit. http://alanhalewood.blogspot.com/

Err you could check the weather forecast...

It's early days yet. Bit of colder weather with no snow would be good, ground is pretty warm and soggy at the mo.

gernally the last 5 years or so atleast, nearly all of the snow melts back again sometime after a dump, until late december, although last year was an exception.

That is putting it mildly, I've given up even considering dry feet the last week, every step walking in seems to cause a puddle.
