what's the best insurance for a weeks sport climbing trip in Europe?

In reply to gilly:

I've never had to use them fortunately, but the BMC insurance is meant to be good when needed. Not the cheapest though.

If it's in addition to an existing travel policy and/or you just want to cover the climbing aspect then I had to this for a trip to elchorro and found SportsCover Direct gave the best options cover and costwise

If it's just for one week a year I would go BMC.  If you are looking to do several trips a year take a look at The Austrian Alpine Club (UK)

BMC - the whole deal is that they back you up when you need it and pay the costs.  I have used BMC insurance to get out of being injured while climbing in the french alps.  The people on the phone were on it straight away - the car was taken back - the rescue were happy - the hospital bill sorted - car to airport - wheeled around at the airport and the costs of the trip reimbursed - can’t fault it.

reassured when the bloke who winched in smiled and said . . . ‘chamonix rescue plus vite du monde”
