The Reel Rock Tour is back touring the UK with jaw-dropping action from some of the year’s most impressive climbing achievements. The tour heads to London next week on 25 & 26 April as well as a whole host of other locations right across the UK throughout 2023.  Check out a full list of locations on the Reel Rock website HERE

In a show packed with adrenaline, laughs and inspiration, the Reel Rock 2023 films travel from France’s awe-inspiring Verdon Gorge, to the ‘Holy Grail’ of big wall free climbing in the Karakoram Mountains.

Reel Rock was founded in 2005 to celebrate the human side behind our sport’s great adventures - weaving action, humour, plus heart and soul into larger-than-life stories that appeal to everyone from the core climber to the armchair mountaineer. Here’s a closer look at this year’s film line-up.

2023 FILMS

Burning the Flame

Big wall free climbing masters Babsi and Jacopo seek their greatest challenge yet: a free ascent of Eternal Flame, an elusive, 3,000ft route up the legendary Nameless Tower in Pakistan’s Karakoram range. Facing extreme conditions and 5.13 trad climbing at high altitude, a two-year quest comes down to one short weather window. Captured with drones and on-mountain cameras, Burning the Flame transports viewers to a place normally off-limits to all but the world’s best climbers.

DNA

29-year-old French sport climber Seb Bouin has been quietly working his way through the elite grades, culminating in his attempt to establish a long pitch out an overhanging cave in the Verdon Gorge of France. His proposed line is so futuristic, the moves so improbable, that if Seb can put it all together it may be one of most difficult route ever climbed.

Resistance Climbing

In the strife-torn hills of Palestine, a diverse crew of Bedouins, dirtbags and urban professionals embraces climbing as a much-needed respite from the burdens of the Israeli occupation. American writer and climber Andrew Bisharat visits the West Bank to explore his own roots and the power of climbing to transform lives.
