I've had a few, but then again too few to mention.

In reply to ThunderCat:

Took for a while to get that one. Like it. And Happy New Year whilst I’m here.

This one down on the Mawddach estuary. Looking pretty glum in the wind and rain. Becoming pretty common nowadays - beautiful birds though.

  Back at you.

Your thread reminds me of the sign in Barnum's circus saying "THIS WAY TO THE EGRESS", purely as a way to get paying customers out of the building by fooling them into thinking they were going to see a nice bird

Nice. Are you in the Kingdom for Hogmanay?

In reply to aln:

Nope. Was going to be, but plans went all astray (father in law over panicking about Covid).  Took these at Morton Lochs last month.

Ah OK. I thought the Egret might have been from Eden estuary. Happy New Year mate, hope you're still fermenting and brewing 😀

Just how do you whip it out so quickly....and take such great piccys?!

I have seen owls (daytime), red squirrel,  and loads of flipping egrets recently,  but by the time I think "wow...photo opportunity"...said wild creature is in the next county, even the squirrel!

In reply to Wainers44:

The camera is slung over my shoulder (I mad a strap) and walk ready prepared. I’d make a brilliant Wild West gunfighter.

These are Eden estuary egrets, taken few hours before the other photos.

Do you think of yourself as a bit High Plains Drifter,  or more Waco Kid?

No egrets. They don't work....

Anyhoo, these remain the best threads.

Saw a splendidly confident fox this afternoon,  near Foxhill House at Reading Uni.

We have plenty here, they feed in the rockpools on the beaches and roost in the trees around the water-filled abandoned quarries.  They've gradually increased over the last 20 years, as a kid we'd never see them.
