Asking for a friend!

Any advice or experience on land boarding. My friend is an experienced power kite flyer but now wants to convert this knowledge into zooming along wide beaches on windy days.

Big questions are:

Where's best to spend the money?

Is a harness key if you're not planning to do any 'sick' jumps?

Any good resources for learning the basics?

Any top tips for not accidentally going to Wales / the car park.

Thanks all!

BB

Get a buggy.

If no to the above, get pads and helmet, it hurts hitting sand at 30+mph, shingle is even worse (don't ask).

Insurance, some beaches require it now.

Harness not required to start with.

Even better, get on the water.

Never kiteboarded but did a fair bit of mountain boarding back when it was a thing. Well as much of a thing as it ever was haha. I might have a trampa board in the shed i wouldnt mind selling. Can dig it out if potentialy interested.

Dont bother – just go kitesurfing instead.. its a lot better hitting water than it is hitting the ground..!  Also the equipment is really good these days and you could probably pick up a decent bargain second hand. Lessons are very much advised but if they have the basic kite control already they should pick it up pretty easily..
