My daughter at Sheffield Uni is having problems with her car cutting out. It’s a Renault Twingo.

Can the wise people of Sheffield recommend a garage in the area particularly of Crookesmoor Broomhill  as I’m not really happy to drive it  back to Leeds and my usual garage. 
I’m thinking it’s either an auto stop start or fuel system  problem from my investigations. 
A Renault specialist might be too much to ask for!

Neil Davis Repairs, been using them for the last 12 years, top of Fulwood Road (Nethergreen). You'll find slightly cheaper out there but Neil and Nick are very experienced, only fix what needs fixing and will let you know when something is on its last legs and roughly how long you've got!

We have used Halfords, Eyre street, Sutherland street and their hillsborough branches all have provided excellent services.

the Sutherland street branch is next to the climbing hangar so you can get a climb in whilst they take a peek

Snuff Mill Garage behind Tesco just off Ecclesall Road is sound and good value 

Want impressed with Hillsborough Halfords, they had our car after it broke down for a week and never even got round to looking at it. No communication, just excuses that they were busy.

Parents use snuff mill garage and are happy with them.

GP autos on Bowness Road. He's called Gary and used to be my next door neighbour. Was going to change my alternator for 250 quid. He managed to fix it by welding the bracket back together (this was the broken bit) and charged me 30 quid. Very honest dude.

Thanks to everyone for their recommendations, we managed to rescue the car back to Leeds this morning without any issues but I’ll definitely be saving these for the future if she has any more problems which might not need Renault diagnostic testing.

Sorry to hear that, I’ve not had the same experience. Strangely I have had poor experiences with some of the local garages around Sheffield mentioned above so I guess it’s bit of a lottery sometimes.
