Died sadly, Fungus the Bogeyman was a childhood favourite, it doesn't get mentioned often but sits just right, the snowman was too twee and when the wind blows too serious.

The Snowman may be twee but thousands (millions?) love it, although maybe more as a film than the original book. No one has mentioned another of his more political books - The Tin Pot General and The Old Iron Lady, wonder who that was about ?
The animated film of Ethel and Ernest, his bittersweet story of his parents' life and the social changes they witnessed, was on BBC last night. I thought it was stunning.
