It’s a series I’ve wanted to watch again. Thanks for mentioning it.

Good God.

I could almost lower myself to giving you a downvote for that monstrous statement.

In reply to Dr.S at work:

I've just endured a tortuous hour of your programme and you have the gall to slate Heartbeat?!. At least one gets 60s nostalgia, nice countryside and humour 🙂

Have you done Green Wing, C4? That's good.

In reply to Maggot:

Never got into Green wing properly.

I rather like the dark  comedy of Cardiac Arrest - certainly “This is going to Hurts” ancestor.

In reply to Dr.S at work:

I loved both Cardiac Arrest and Green Wing. but they are very different things. Like "This is going to hurt", Cardiac Arrest feels real, where Green Wing is a (very funny) comedy set in a hospital.

Wasn't Cardiac Arrest written by a junior doctor after he quit? Just like This is going to hurt.

In reply to Hooo:

Yes - went on to write a few ok shows

In reply to Dr.S at work: I watched the first series last night. It was as funny as I remembered it, and captures exactly what it was like to be a junior doctor in the NHS in the 90s

I actually found it too real and reminiscent to be truly enjoyable and remember watching it in a state of mild anxiety, with spikes in heart rate and an automatic look down to my waist with dread every time those bloody bleeps went off!
