The tight pink rope is attached to a shunt clipped in at ground level. I trailed a rope and then clipped it into the sling when I threaded it on. This way the sling could then be tensioned into place, hopefully stopping it coming off in the event of a fall! Looks a bit messy but a good solution to the potential problem.
