Impressive stuff... He's looking more toned than I remember him and, he's dyed his hair, right?

Kirk's been on the Owl Pellet Diet - whenever he gets hungry, he just sucks on some frozen owl nuggets. His hair is Boy Band Blond - he loves to sing 'You Raise Me Up' by Boyzone as he climbs.

Amazing that people know the likes of Sharma, Graham, Macleod, but hardly anyone has heard of Kirk Plastique. Maybe it's because he devotes all his energies to climbing locally in his Lancashire quarries or grit edges. This photo was taken after a long day 'working' the giant roof at Blackstone. Kirk hadn't been able to link the sequences so we sat drinking Sunny Delight (think Kirk drank rather too much!). Then I was packing the rucksack ready to go home, when I turned to see him soloing up like an Action Man possessed! Told me later that he'd just received a txt message from his mate Johnny (Deep Sea Diver Action Man) calling him a 'loser' - and this had given him motivation. He cruised it, even took a hand off to chalk up mid-roof!

Chalking up? Is that a polite way of saying 'pulling one's moulded plastic thong out of one's arse'?

So that's why he wanted to call the route 'Thong on the Strong'! I just saw white stuff flying everywhere and presumed he was dipping his hand onto his Bison.
