The photo has not been modified in any way. It was taken from the Midi station above Chamonix in August 2003on my Sony P7 and was taken in B&W. Its just one of those lucky shots.

Brilliant photo. What is that pinnacle, are the routes up it hard? Never been up the midi so sorry if this is a silly question to someone who has.

I'm not sure what the pinnacle is, or what the routes are like on it, they certainly looked reasonably hard from the Col. It is at the back of the Midi station, I'm sure someone on here knows the details.

I have posted a thread and it appears its the South face of the Midi, most routes are around HVS/E1. Rebuffat route is apparently the easiest.
