Not sure what route this is, thought it might be the Chimney Exit but it looks harder than the grade and not much of a chimney! Top butress to the left of Central Gully

What was the nick like? Turf frozen and any ice, or just clearing powder out the way and dry tooling? Cheers

When I went up there the other day, the turf was anything other than frozen, sodden being a better word. But the tops were in condition, hence why these guys were up there. Hoar appearing on the upper reaches and ground frozen on the summits, but down at Sprinkling no sign of ice. It's been much colder here over the last few days, raining today but still cold so should fall as snow on the tops, going up tomorrow for a "look see".

It is a new variant top pitch to Central Gully (Great End Finish VI 7)this picture was taken during the first ascent, the buttress is quite often white when nothing else is, combine this route with the arete from the junction in central gully VI 5 that I climbed a few years ago to give a good slightly harder outing for the crag. The upper buttress can be gained either by descending the right branch or climbing the buttress on the right of the gully and dropping in above the pitch if conditions or traffic make the lower gully unclimbable
