From memory Howard took the pic. Nigel Yorkie Robinson (RIP) and I were caught out by a rising tide and a strengthening storm. No biggie although I bought some Petzl ascendeurs subsequently.

I'm not sure that I would have chosen this place for the learning exercise!

2nd January 1987. Heaven's Door. I had a confident theoretical idea of how to prusik. Yorke led the first pitch but that's only 35 feet. It became apparent that the sea was increasingly encroaching. Howard seeing our plight secured an escape rope for us.
Yorke escaped first. By the time I set off the situation was dicey. When about 70ft above the sea massive waves were crashing into the cliff and richocheting onto me. A grand day out.
