At the start of a trip to Ben Nevis and Glencoe during Easter 1960. John in a pair of leather ski boots fitted with nails in which he later lead Crowberry Ridge Direct. We pitched our tent just across the river from the Y H. We were I think still 16 at the time and not well equipped, a lack of cash as we were students.
