Found on the South Face of Parrotspitze, Monte Rosa, during the ascent of the British Route. How old will it be?

Great find!! Someone else might be able to date it more accurately, but looks like a Simond axe from perhaps 1950s/'60s.

My first axe was wooden shafted and I think I bought it in the late 70's. No idea of the make.

Wow great thing to find. Incredible amount corrosion. I think 1950s, looks like theres no teeth on the pick and no karabiner hole in the centre.
