    Southern France back in the 70s. We took the easy way to the top of Mt Blanc. These guys didn't.
    Much more rewarding for them than us!

    Are you sure that's not the Arete des Cosmiques ? Looks like a metal railing at the top of the Midi? I remember the summit of Mt Blanc being a snow dome.

    I think you're right. We were in Chamonix and took the cable car up to Cosmiques/Aiguille di Midi if I recall correctly. This is not Mt Blanc itself and you're right - the summit is a dome.

    Actually, not Mt Blanc. This is the Aiguille du Midi.
