Wow, that's a great photo. And zooming in on the village just makes it better!

Very nice indeed. Brings back many happy memories of tramping around Snowdonia, leading for the C.H.A and H.F.
Cnict was a favorite as we headed back to Beddgelert along the old narrow gauge railway track-bed, through the tunnel alongside the Afon Glaslyn. This has since reopened as the Welsh Highland Railway.

Brilliant photo, gives me a feeling of hiraeth.

Yes, the zoom-in on the village is almost unreal!

Smashing pic. It's over 40 years since I walked those hills - must put that right! Your photo is very reminiscent of the rivers that run down into Morecambe Bay with the Lakes fells beyond. Is there an English version of hiraeth?

Terrific photo Myfyr. Dai iawn diolch, (Our planned trip to Llanberis and then Criccieth has fallen victim to the virus!)

It's said there is no direct English translation for hiraeth. I suppose the closest would be longing, yearning or, to some extent, grief.

Excellent sunset Myfyr.

Hiraeth has always seemed a Celtic concept to me. In Irish, there is bronach, although I think of hiraeth as being mostly to do with longing and bronach as being bitter grief. I'm not sure the English cultural psyche does such extreme emotions. Maybe no bad thing!

I'm sure Wordsworth would have raided Dorothy's diary to find some equivalent for Lakeland. Coleridge would've lit a spliff then forgotten it when he came round.

Stunning ! Thank you very much.
