That is an outstanding shot. A wonderful set of images too.

Totally agree with both comments above. What do you feel in such a place - peace?
Mick Ward - 15/Dec/19
Peace yes, and awe

It is quite overwhelming, stark beauty.

Thanks Uistgr and Mick. I think this is my favourite shot from the Namib. The Tiras mountains are pretty remote with few visitiors (a handful of vehicles per day on the 100km loop of dirt road between the mountains and the dunes) and was staggeringly beautiful. After a foggy morning with temperatures only just above freezing, a cold front came through with gales and even some rain. This seemed to cleanse the dust from the air to leave a calm evening of stunning clarity. I wandered a few miles into the dunes for the sunset. A few grazing oryx in the distance. Yes, calm, peace and solitude.

Thank you for explaining. Just knowing that there are such places means so much!

Great set of images. This is my fav of the set, time to add another place to the ever growing must visit list.

Agree with all the above, another super set. The way you've captured the texture of the dunes is quite wonderful.
