Yes is a very great shot indeed, as climbing photographs go (I'm a harsh critic having taking lots of bads ones and a few quite decent ones myself), because it shows everything that matters, really well, in one concentrated image. First, the exposure and steepness, then, more important, the sheer concentration of the climber; but beyond all that, the climbing technique comes across very well - a very rare thing in a climbing photo. The incredible lightness with which he is using the crucial finger holds and the obvious fact that about 99 percent of his weight is still on his toes, which we can also see. Also, his face of calm, very deep concentration, with that slight frown, says it all: 'this is very hard, but I've got it all under control.. I think.'
