The photo is of an early (2nd ascent ?) of the Promontory Traverse in 1951. I believe I know who two of the climbers are but await the opinions of others.

The guy in the middle looks like Johnnie Lees.

They appear to have a backup belay rope from the top of the crag; not something Harding and Moulam did. Not sure it could be classed as a 2nd ascent!

No fancy gear in those days Phil! Belays had to be rigged in any way possible. The belay from the top doesn`t diminish this traverse - it demonstrates ingenuity!

Yes Boje it is JR Lees and PD Perkins. Not sure about number 3 on the rope!
