Good effort! Great to see the mountain get a second ascent just one year after ours. We looked at that line and thought it looked really good so it's nice to see it climbed. Hope you had fun it's a beautiful place. Will there be a trip report published at some point? Where next?

Hi Tom. Thanks. It was a great trip and we really benefitted from some of the beta from your visit. We planned to descend 5044 via your south ridge route but the slopes were pretty loaded, so we abbed a line to climbers left to avoid it. Loads more lines to do on the NE face, but then there are so many more unclimbed peaks to do as well! Next trip may well be back to Borkoldoy!

I may be sounding ignorant(which I am of these facts.) but where is Borkoldoy? I am sure that I am not the only one in the dark.
Whatever the case it looks good fun, and yet probably v hard work.

It's an area/valley system in Kyrgyzstan. As far as we know we were only the second team to climb there, so you aren't alone in being ignorant of it's existence!
