Judas, Great Zawn, showing the correct line of the route
Frank Cannings - 17/Jun/13
Thank you for that Frank - I guess you ought to know! It is gratifying that other than a minor visit to Xanadu for our top belay we did climb your excellent route. Highly recommended - one of Cornwall's great adventure routes.

Along with the "lip tripping" finish (your comment Kafoozalem) the start you did is also surely also an Edwards mistake, not as good as the original (and clearly described) ramp coming out of the Xanadu groove. When we FA'd Judas Xanadu was a full-blown artifical aid route all on pegs. Pat(also with Ian Duckworth) free climbed it a month after the FA of Judas. I've always thought Judas was a good route; climbed on-sight wih no previous gardening, so hopefully those still seeking real adventure climbing will add it to their "wish lists"!

I'll amend my description since we did do the start as shown in your topo. We were surprised at the difficulty and Ken wondered if we'd branched left too low - evidently not.
