Does it come directly up to the bealayer or up the obvious line to the right? Looks like it'd go in one long super pitch...

The 7a+ version of the first pitch starts more or less directly beneath the belayer but moves left at the left edge of the roof below him, then up and back right along the break. So could be pretty draggy as one pitch! There is a more direct 7b+ finish to the first pitch and the stuff to the right is harder still.

Did it with Jim Moran in 83/4 when it was a trad route with rusty pegs for pro, we belayed to the right at the end of the break and followed the goove on the right.all very gripping stuff. Jim took an 80 footer on the vegetated approach pitch after a disagreement with a tree!
