Gosh, JK! and looking young - he used to give me & my mates lifts to N Wales in the 70's. I recall Ken's tale of getting him to lead Sloth for the Hard Rock cover shot. Believe he died in a car accident?

John died in a car crash near Berkhampstead in 1990 aged 45. Ken Wilson wrote his obituary in the 1989-90 Climber's Club journal: http://www.climbers-club.co.uk/journal/original/1989-90%20journal_nc.pdf
