Is there actually any gear on this route??

the gear is in the crack to the left which is possible to place on lead

Did this yesterday. The first bit of gear i.e. the first bomber slot on Silk Cut is definitely part of the route. Above that there's no gear and the 5b move reach around the roof is definitely the hard E3 bit. Soft E2 if you contrive to get side-runners higher up in Silk Cut maybe. Great moves on SS itself tho.

....particularly as on the onsight you end up resting on the arete proper, nowhere near the E2. Headpointing would be such a waste of a classic testpiece.
