Never thought of using Marigolds for Alpine routes.Maybe next year.
In a different light,I have often fancied the idea of doing the Zmutt route,but like Sean I think that the conditions are not what you might expect.Also thought a bit more carefully about the route when the hut went.

The gloves are leather gardening gloves with thinsulate lining. I get mine from Dickies at £10 per pair! The route was quite snowy and we wore crampons for the entire climb. These days it is difficult to get the approach slope from the Hornli Hut covered in good snow but the ridge clear of snow.
