I don't normally do this sort of thing, but this is a blend of five different exposures in an attempt to keep the Pap bright but not washed out while not having the foreground descend into blackness. I've tried to keep it looking natural - what do you think?

I think I would have cropped a little off the bottom. Compared to the top half it lacks that certain something, but that's just me!

Not bad, but still has that HDR aura about it. I think I'd sacrifice some if the shadow detail in the distance to get less overall "flatening".

Thanks for the comments folks. I think I'd agree that it could do with a bit more punch, which would involve the foreground being a bit darker: there isn't much scope to brighten the mountains without the snow losing detail. I wanted to keep enough of the foreground to use the flowing water to draw the eye into the picture.

Loveley. What exposure did you use to capture the movement in the water?

Exposure was f6.7 with a range of shutter speeds from 1/15 to 1/250 second. Looking at the water you can see a mixture of blur from the slow speeds and sharpness from the high speeds which I quite like but hadn't thought about too much until you asked your question.

I am not a fan of HDR (because it can sometimes look too artificial) but it works very well here. Possibly might have had the foreground a tad darker, but it certainly adds positive elements to the final image. Besides it is such a wonderful area to explore & photograph.
