Awsome, but should really straighten that horizon

What happened when he reached the knot???
Sean Kelly - 10/Sep/10
He untangled it. I'd done the same a few minutes before - although it's not obvious from the photo, it was blowing a hoolie so the ropes were getting twisted & knotted very easily and we were getting blown around all over the place trying to untangle them.

Were there many birds on the route? I had a pop at the Old Man in early June and had to retreat due to so many nesting fulmars. Bit embarrassing but it was pretty unclimbable with 4 birds sitting on eggs on each ledge!

No, there were very few birds at all, and we only saw one fulmar. I guess being that bit later in the year helps.

Super photo. Watched you heading out from the bothy on Sunday morning from the comfort of our nice warm cottage. Mighty impressed that you were going for it in that wind - it was wild.... but beautiful.
BTW I was approached by a couple looking for teh bothy on Sunday night as darkness was falling (they were poking around a wee stone shed thinking that was it) I pointed them in right direction but told them there were a few folk in already. Did you have room for them?
