How on earth did you get Marty up there?

Well we all got up there on skis (except for the last 20m or so on foot). We've been ski-touring with MBS on a regular annual basis for over 10 years. The idea for this year's trip came after we spotted a description for the Imperial Haute Route on a website. None of us, including Martin had done any of this route before
although I think Martin's daughter Hannah was able to pass on some inside knowledge of parts of the route.

I was just poking fun, ever so gently, at MBS! He lives only about ten minutes from me and I hardly ever see him.

Martin is generally fair game for teasing in my experience! By the way I think we have met before Jon, perhaps 13 years or so ago. My wife Jane and I were touring near the St Bernard Monastery with Martin when we crossed paths with you and your wife.

You live a lot closer to me Jon and I never see you either. Go easy on MBS he is a true gent of the mountains!

Mike, would that have been you coming down les Monts Telliers with MBS as H and I came down from the Pointe de Drome?

Yes that sounds right. We had spent the night at the Monastery and did the traverse over the peak the following morning.
