I think the point and shoot Canon I'd be reaching for would be a 9mm hand cannon! How did you get that close without getting eaten?

We looked out of our tent and there he/she was ,I grabbed the camera and my mate (who I trust completely) grabbed the gun.Dave waited until I had composed the shot and pushed the button before he fired a warning shot with the gun.I should have had an eyeball to eyeball pic but the processing delay caught the bear leaping to one side after the bang.It ran off and was unharmed.

Vid a bit American for me,however,the upshot(pardon the pun)of this is that I purchased a Ca.non EOS5 with 400mm lens as a safer option for this years trip.Try www.Polar-Challenge.com. Camera used in shot was a Canon Powershot Pro at wide angle
