Mr Mills, no, O Sole Mio was in the shade round the corner, cold enough climbing in the sun! Had a look at it while rapping off and it looked awesome.

part of me wants to give a 5, part of me wants to comment on the crazy rope work, the rest is confused what is actually happening... not sure this is a great climbing photo, just a great photo... hmmm

Agree this is a superb photo and also irritating ropework. The latter probably adds to the picture! Surely the purpose of any photo is to create emotion?

Mmmmmh... Ok, rope work explanation.
At the point were the ropes cross each other there's a roof that is traversed right (climbers view) till you are below the crack with the opposing qd's. The green rope is extended with a long sling to give protection against pendulum if you fall before reaching the exit crack. Once below said crack the green rope will be 'lined up' above thanks to said extender, while the blue will be also aligned, hence avoiding a pendulum in case of a fall.

Harder pitch (the one in the photo) goes at f6b and A0.
Pulling on rather loose pegs under the roof.

No full res online, but you can mail me if you want it and i'll mail it to you.

There is considerably more snow cover than when we didi this in August. And yes, those pegs are rather wobbly. felt hard at 6b+
