He is a French Alpine Guide called Fred. He was up drinking Grappa till the early hours, fell asleep on the floor in front of the hut bar then got up to climb with a smile 3 hours later!

Thanks, I thought it was! Fred Augé was a guy I climbed extensively with about 15 years ago. He was a really good climber - on sight 7c and 8b+ redpoint. He then disappeared completely from the scene around here and stopped climbing to produce a few children. Saw him again last year, threatening to start climbing again, but I don't think he has...
