Hill features

Wales' greatest and craggiest peak? It's certainly eye-catching. There are no entirely hands-free ways up Tryfan, but if you're into scrambling then there's nowhere better.

The mountain also offers plenty of old-school rock climbing, with long easy mountaineering routes, in a spectacular setting. The clean rock is almost always climbable, even in the wet. Long multi-pitch routes to 190 metres.

Approach notes

You really can't miss it, as you travel from the road from Capel Curig.

My 80m rope got me down from the top of the decent gulley bang on. Proberly around the 40m mark.
