βeta: Great walk from Silverburn on well formed paths on the ascent to the col between Scald Law and Carnethy Hill. Small, less defined path around the shoulder of Scald Law to the summit of Grain Hill. Come back off Grain Hill towards Scald Law to ensure you avoid the cliffs of Silverburn quarry on the front face, then take the small, steep path down the valley between Grain Hill and Carnethy Hill, returning to the kissing gate on the main path towards Silverburn at the bottom of the valley. | βeta? | |
