Sky's Edge Boulder - Longshaw © Simon
Above the Longshaw Visitor Centre is a small edge near the landmark of the Wooden Pole. This is home to a group of boulders centred around the 'Duke's seat' which is a stone bench against a small buttress. These mainly give low grade problems with flat grassy landings and superb views. A good family freindly spot, which can be combined with the amenities of the Visitor Centre and cafe.
From the Longshaw Estate Woodcroft car park, follow the small path at the back through a gate. Head left up onto the ridge and follow a vague trail past the top of a small, fenced-off quarry to the boulders. Alternatively stay on the lower track and where the boulders will be visible above at a set of old stone steps by Little John's Well.
