300m. The ridge begins to the right of the more obvious buttress. It begins at a saddle by a fence and dry stone wall. Scramble upwards with choice of line until you top out on the ridge.

ron1954 28 Apr 2nd Greg led, protecting me with the rope, putting in gear when needed (occasional only) or we moved independently, transporting the rope. Easy route finding, nice dry rock on top half, bit damper lower down. Great views of the Pass. Done as part of walk from YHA Pen-y-Pass to YHA Llanberis.

George_Surf 15 Apr, 2018 Lead Short-roped, mostly short rock steps between big grassy ledges, not much for belays and loose/shattered rock in the upper sections. Llechog buttress is probably better, returned by heading north along the ridge and dropping back in to the valley. Tiring approach!

tk4210 8 Nov, 2015 Solo O/S With Scott Pardoe and Andy Tetsil. Had planned to do the buttress but conditions were poor - driving rain - so we opted for the ridge. Good scrambling once we gained the ridge and we were able to choose whichever line we wanted. Lots of options for routes in either winter or on dry days. As we got to the top was extremely windy with big gusts. Nearly got blown off. As we got to the top we were regularly blown over. Descended to Llanberis via the path.

jimorothy 3 Aug, 2015 Solo Late afternoon after biblical rain, windy. Enjoyed it, especially the start and the boot crack. Quartz crack much trickier in the wet.

spenser 2 Jul, 2014 Solo O/S A nice route, looked as though it deteriorated towards the top so I bailed onto the buttress to the left which had some much more exposed and fantastic positions.

BStar 26 Aug, 2013 Lead O/S Roped the odd part 'just in case'. Not a great scramble, almost all of it is avoidable, the route spent more time on grass and heather than rock. Slightly disappointing compared to North Ridge of Tryfan but a good route still.

mysterion 3 Apr, 2011 - Started up Ashton's 'square-cut slot' on tower then his 'difficult face' out of notch (each the only grade 2 I noticed) but at his 'difficult quartz break' changed to the more detailed route description of Sparks et al - from their 'spike on the skyline' onwards. Not sure I could follow their description very far so defaulted to Ashton's simpler 'ascend the easier upper part of the ridge at will', though did not find his '10m boot-width crack'.

col3 24 Oct, 2010 Solo O/S First grade 2! Lovely scramble, technically harder than a grade 1 definitely but not too much exposure which made it an excellent introduction to the grade. Really enjoyed this. Was going to go up Cloggy after but ran out of time.
